1000mg L-Glutamine Tablets. Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and low levels are an indicator of over training. It is important for afterworkout recovery, repair and re-growth of muscle tissue. Glutamine also has cell volumising effects. Idealy taken between meals or right after training.
Exercise can lead to a decrease in plasma glutamine levels. Studies have shown that power athletes can have particularly low plasma glutamine. It also effects endurance athletes – after running a marathon, glutamine levels are low for 6-9 hours. Low plasma glutamine is an indicator of overtraining. Glutamine has now been linked with the following:
Glutamine deficiency has been observed after surgery, burns and other stresses as well as exercise. For this reason it is called aconditionally essential amino acid.
